Do you accept international payments?
Configuring money from one country to another
smells a lot like calculator work to me...
so to be safe, I only accept payment from
US residents only.
What is dezignbiz?
dezignbiz is commercial graphic design, artwork,
and promotion for small business advertising.
It's also visual communication. It's communication
to potential customers - through visuals.
Whether it's unique ideas to advertise your
business logo with a a catchy slogan, unique
artwork to represent your company, informative
writing, personal photography, etc. It's
about giving your business a design (or identity)
that the public (and potential buyers) can
relate to. My specialty is creative ideas
and design... to give you that special "look"
that has you stand out from the rest - and
then putting you "out there" to
be seen and exposed.
I want to work with someone who is "good
on their word" and avoid the signed
paperwork and contracts.
Don't we all?! Unfortunately, business doesn't
work that way. The only way that I will go
ahead and begin on a project is with your
initial approval, your down payment, and
your signature that you understand and agree
to the terms. The agreement is a bond of
our word and intentions. It protects me as
the artist and producer of the work - but
it also protects you, the buyer as well.
Basically it's insurance for BOTH of us.
How can I view samples of your work?
Just click your way through my
website -
and you will find REAL samples
of my ORIGINAL
work - from my portfolio. These
are NOT generic,
pre-purchased clip art.

Can you just present me with a few of your
ideas... and then let me decide if I want
to purchase it?
Sorry, but I don't do that... but for the
same reason that I wouldn't call and ask
a painter to paint my home first - and let
me decide if I like it or not, before I write
him a check. His time is part of the service.
This is why I present you with examples of
my experience, education, and talent. Creativity,
ideas, and originality are the "meat
and potatoes" in my line of work. There
is also time involved - when I serve you
my "meat and potatoes". Time and
ideas are part of my service, and they are
not free.
Are you planning on expanding your business,
and looking to hire employees?
Sorry... I'm hopelessly creative, and "playing
boss" just doesn't leave much time to
dream and mentally explore.
How would a small service like yours, be
of benefit to my business...
rather than
a large advertising company? Since dezignbiz works solo - do you think
you can handle my job request?
To be honest - I am not sure until I know
what your project consists of.
That's why
I'll ask you to contact me or
drop an email
with some information as to what
you might
be looking for. If I can not
handle the workload
because it's more than I can
handle (or out
of my professional league) I
will not accept
the job. If I know someone who
might be of
better service - I will gladly
make a recommendation.
It would TRULY be a personal / business decision,
and would have to depend on what you were
actually wanting to invest in. Larger companies
mean larger workloads, larger client lists
and demands, and larger overhead that present
a higher cost. Too, someone might feel more
like a number, than like a person needing
help. Smaller design networks, such as my
freelance service can be nice for businesses
who prefers to be individualized, with a
personal touch.
Why do you choose to freelance?
For personal reasons to start,
I just like
working at home, working my own
schedule,
and being comfortable. Stuffiness
smothers
creativity. It needs to breathe,
and you
never know when great ideas are
going to
start pouring in. So if I feel
like working
on a project through out the
night until
dawn (because I am on a creative
roll) I
get to roll WITH it - rather
than waiting
for a 9-5 office to open.
Being a freelancer, I get to be creative,
but also spend more time with clients...
like answering your on-going questions, inspiring
you on "off" days, and offering
you suggestions and recommendations. When
you work as a designer in an office, you're
only co-worker is the computer. I like people,
and I like having that personal contact.
What I also like about doing freelance, is
that no matter what size the job is... it's
about knowing that when the project is complete
and a success, and that it came from skills
and experience, but also from personalized
one-on-one contact, with clear communication
and effort between the contractor and the
client. It's nice to know that putting these
qualities all together can build a nice,
comfortable business relationship with mutual
trust, and then expand into future jobs by
happy and satisfied referrals. Making you
happy - makes me happy.
How do I receive my design?
Depending on the design order
- you can receive
it by your preference - either
on a cd by
U.S Postal Mail or electronically
over the
internet, or both.
When can I usually expect to
see my order?
Well that will pretty much depend
on you
and your interest of desire (the
amount of
time expected to be invested
into your project.)
Projects can be designed from
a quick and
basic design - to a more detailed
and time-consuming
project. So because design is
a process..
you can expect for me to go through
a series
of questions, so that I can get
familiar
with your product or service.
This way, I
can get a better idea as to what
would be
best for you. So depending on
the extent
your design needs, it can take
anywhere from
a quick 3-5 days for quick and
easy projects..
and ongoing design projects (like
a website)
with several things going on
will take longer,
of course.
How does payment occur?
Before I begin a job, the first payment of
35% of the projects total will be due, which
is non-refundable, to cover my time and work
involved with creative thought processing,
layout, design, research, along with general
concept with numerous specs and ideas, along
with use of computer and equipment. From
there, I would continue to work on your project
with revisions, updates, and changes to suit
your business needs, where the second installment
of 35% will be due. When I present you with
the completed project, the last installment
of the 35% payment will be due, along with
any additional fees that were incurred during
the creation of your project - before the
project is released.
